Add oats and milk to a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes until milk is absorbed and oats are cooked to desired consistency. (Add additional water, if desired)
Stir in the pumpkin purée, vanilla and spices and cook over low heat for another 2 minutes. Top bowl of oatmeal with pecans.
One less thing to measure... If you have the store bought pumpkin pie spice blend, use a 1/2 tsp of the spice blend instead of the spices listed below.
